Heavy Metal Field Recordings
Currently in the test phase still, Heavy Metal Field Recordings is an idea that stems from me brainstorming what good could come out of having a pylon in the neighbouring field to my house. This led me to consider recording the sound of it in a variety of weather conditions. I have since extended this to include other large metal objects, such as grain stores and iron sheds.
I plan to produce two sound files based on the original recording. One the untreated and the other an extreme time stretched version, using the height or length of the object to determine the factor of stretch.
Some of the recordings from my recent “Sounds of a Dying Library” project hint at the sorts of sounds I will capture as part of this project.
