Simon Dobson got in touch with me a little while back to discuss how he might acoustically get sounds out of his (dual bell) trumpet that he normally relies on effects pedals for. This piqued my interest immediately. His aim was to have something (in Covid times) that would allow him to busk with effects but without the need for electricity/mics/pedals.
So far this has resulted in a series of mutant mutes and even replacing whole pipe sections on a horn with corrugated pipe.
