Since the start of October, I have had an intern, working alongside me on both my commercial projects and PhD research projects. We have been logging our work and discussions here. As you’ll see there is a lot of discussion and development going on and I thought it pertinent to reference it here, as much of it relates to my research.

Whilst taking on my first ever intern at the same time as starting my first ever PhD may seem foolhardy, I am pleased to report that Miles The Intern has served to aid my work in a variety of ways and I feel he is gaining significant insight too.

He has challenged my thinking and preconceptions in ways that seem very positive to someone who has been working alone for over ten years now. I believe they call it a critical friend. It’s a useful thing to have. This has all helped with discussions around my work. Forcing me to reflect on my aims / values / processes etc. He has also brought the art side of my work back into sharper focus, as my PhD has also done.
